Network Engineer, Hybrid, Checkpoint, Meraki, Azure
Our client, a leading finance company, is looking to hire an experienced Network Engineer.
Engagement is via umbrella company only.
Hybrid working - 2-3 days per week on site.
The role will suit a Network Engineer with experience working with a broad and diverse range of technologies. Experience of being involved in network wide transformation would be desirable.
Experience working with Azure networking managing VNETs, ExpressRoute, VPNs and other Azure network features such as NSG/MS loadbalancer is essential.
The primary focus of the role will be to provide day to day support for our existing network services, this is also an all encompassing role including involvement on various projects across on-premise network services, cloud and security services.
General responsibilities:
- Managing Access network, WAN and LAN services, External networks including internet connectivity and third-party services.
- Core network covering data centre and cloud services, including incident, problem and change management to ensure maximum service availability
- Delivering project and BAU related network changes including firewall changes.
- Proactively managing security controls including Proxy.
- Ensure network related documentation and diagrams are kept up to date
Skills & experience required:
- Relevant experience of working in a complex, multi-site network environment where Security is key
- In-Depth knowledge of networking fundamentals e,g, Network topology, Data Centre Infrastructure systems, Layer 2 / 3 Switching, VLANs, Routing, VPNs, High availability protocols.
- Check Point firewalls
- Azure skills
- Hands-on experience with Meraki Switches and wireless infrastructure
- Arista software
