Engineering Surveyor

Due to our substantial and continued growth OCU are looking for a Engineering Surveyor to join our team based in Borehamwood.

The Engineering Surveyor plays a crucial role in safeguarding the quality of our products and services through, thorough and objective Site Surveying and reporting. By conducting Surveying activities, producing reports and working closely with the Engineering teams you will ensure compliance with established standards, regulations, and internal procedures, driving continuous improvement throughout the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out topographic surveys of sites, establishing control where necessary.
  • Setting out including profiles, batter boards, high accuracy concrete works etc.
  • Carrying out progress surveys of works using GNSS and/or Total Station and by taking measurements and photographs to accurately plot newly installed utility service routes and other related construction works.
  • Creation of 'as-laid' records, editing, validation, publication and submission of service records.
  • Creation, preparation and amendment of AutoCAD drawings and other electronic documentation.
  • Assisting with the preparation and publication of project related and tender documentation.
  • Maintain and check all survey equipment, as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Follow and promote the company's health and safety policies.
  • Use initiative, be self-motivated and able to work without supervision. Good interpretative skills.
  • Ability to prioritise various and changing tasks.
  • Work to deadlines and communicate early when this is not feasible. Well organised. Flexible.
  • Good communicator and a team player.
  • Accuracy, literacy and numeracy abilities.
  • Candidate will be educated to graduate level.
  • Land Surveying / Civil Engineering background.
  • Use of Leica GNSS & Robotic TS equipment.
  • AutoCAD 2D & 3D to an advanced level.
  • Microsoft Office including Word, Excel.
  • Full UK Driving licence.
  • CSCS/SMSTS / SSSTS
  • Membership of a professional body (RICS/CICES)
  • Previous experience with utility networks
  • Experienced in AutoCAD Map3D / Civil 3D / GIS
  • First Aid
