About the role

We are seeking a proactive and motivated Team Leader - Neighbourhoods to lead our dedicated team of Neighbourhood Housing Officers. You will be pivotal in delivering an excellent, consistent, and customer-focused frontline housing service. Based in Evesham or Gloucester, you will work closely with customers, stakeholders, and partner agencies to build resilient communities and improve the quality of life for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Motivate the Team: Inspire and manage a team of Neighbourhood Housing Officers to deliver outstanding customer service and achieve key performance targets.
  • Customer Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for customers and local stakeholders, ensuring services are designed to meet their needs and improve their living environment.
  • Project Delivery: Successfully deliver two housing-related projects annually, as agreed with the Neighbourhood Manager and Head of Housing.
  • Service Excellence: Provide a proactive service in tenancy management, income recovery, anti-social behaviour, property management, and customer engagement.
  • Community Development: Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to support vulnerable customers, develop local lettings plans, and create successful new communities.
  • Data Management: Oversee the collection and monitoring of key performance data, including arrears, property conditions, health and safety, and customer feedback.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all activities comply with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety regulations.
  • Team Development: Provide regular supervision, coaching, and training to team members, ensuring high performance and development in line with company values.

About you:

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Professional housing or related qualification at Level 3 (or working towards it).
  • Proven experience in a similar role, including leading and managing a team effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation and welfare benefits.
  • Experience in multi-agency working and handling complaints effectively.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • A customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality services.
  • Full and current driving license with the use of a vehicle for business purposes.
