About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Group Shared Services - someone to lead the Group Shared Services teams who support the Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) and Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust (JRHT). Our Group Shared Services encompasses; groupwide technology services (infrastructure and day-to-day service support), groupwide people services (payroll and HR transactional processes), facilities and health and safety (for non-JRHT offices) and procure-to-pay (procurement and accounts payable).

The role is a key one for the Group - varied and pivotal, you will ensure the delivery of operational services across the full range of functions alongside the challenge of leading the continuous improvement of systems and processes. The role is accountable for leading the agreement of services provided, including service standards and pricing to deliver quality and value for money.

About You

We'd like our Head of Group Shared Services to have a strong track record of running operational teams and services.You will have knowledge and experience across different functions and services (including technology) and be able to lead and motivate a team with different specialist skills through change, transforming services and continuous improvement initiatives. You'll have experience of building great relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.You'll be comfortable in presenting and communicating widely on complex matters to executive and non-executive teams and colleagues across different parts of the organisation and have significant experience of developing service standards.

You'll be able to think critically and creatively, analyse and solve problems and be proactive in scanning for emerging opportunities. You will be skilled in process mapping, process management and process improvement and be able to translate complex concepts, issues, and challenges, particularly relating to technology, into easy-to-understand language. You'll be able to bring experience of service pricing, cost modelling and reporting against the components of a good service based agreement.
