Production Operator (Temporary):

We are seeking a Production Operator to join a leading company in the electro-mechanical connectivity industry. Manufacturing flexible, conformable, and semi-rigid coaxial assemblies, multiwire assemblies, panels, looms, and overmoulded cable assemblies, with a 40-year history and part of a larger group with a €100 million turnover, the company specialises in high-quality connectivity solutions used in various sectors, including railway, medical, telecoms, and industrial.

Required Skills & Qualifications (Please ONLY apply IF you meet the bellow):

  • Electronics qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds) and ideally 5 or more GCSEs.
  • Interest and understanding of electronic technology and products.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and diagrams.
  • Basic understanding of testing cable and electronic assemblies.
  • Aptitude for design, improvement, and problem-solving.
  • Excellent IT and organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a drive to learn and succeed.
  • Experience in a similar role within a warehouse or production environment.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems such as ISO9001 - 2015 and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Team player with the ability to work to deadlines.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Collaborate with co-workers and managers to maintain a smooth workflow.
  • Engage in various production tasks such as picking, packing, reeling, and palletising.
  • Utilise the ERP system for inventory checks and label printing.
  • Ensure accurate cutting and preparation of materials as per engineering drawings and diagrams.
  • Conduct basic testing of cable and electronic assemblies.
  • Contribute to design and improvement initiatives.
  • Apply problem-solving skills for fault finding.
  • Manage workload efficiently to meet shipping dates and deadlines.
  • Assist in stores management, including goods in and out, when required to cover the Stores Supervisor.

Summary:

  • Location: Welham Green
  • Pay: £11.50 per hour
  • Job Type: Temporary
  • Hours: Mon-Thur: 07:30 – 16:30, Fri 07:30 – 12:30
