A dynamic firm is seeking to appoint a full-time Commercial Property Paralegal to support its Commercial Property Department.

The firm currently handles high-quality instructions from a range of clients, including a national car parts supplier, private companies, investors, pension funds, local authorities, and high-net-worth individuals.

The successful candidate will assist with a variety of commercial property work, including acquisitions and disposals, secured lending and investment finance, commercial leases and supplemental documents, sale contracts, option agreements, overage deeds, section 106 agreements, and corporate support.

Responsibilities include:

  • Handling new enquiries and follow-ups
  • Onboarding clients, including file opening procedures, preparation of quotes, and engagement paperwork
  • Conducting casework such as drafting and negotiating commercial property contracts, deeds, leases, licenses, option agreements, overage agreements, and ancillary documents
  • Obtaining and reviewing title documents, responding to enquiries such as CPSE, conducting property searches, and preparing reports on title
  • Utilizing electronic signature platforms, preparing and submitting SDLT returns, and managing Land Registry applications and requisitions
  • Communicating with clients, agents, surveyors, and other solicitors
  • Generating fees to achieve fee targets
  • Managing file closure and archiving
  • Preparing periodic technical releases for internal and external use
  • Assisting with marketing and the development of the department

THE CANDIDATE:

The ideal candidate will be ambitious and self-motivated, with experience handling a range of commercial property transactions.

Requirements:

  • Based in the office and living reasonably close to Lichfield
  • Experience in dealing with all aspects of Property work
  • Highly organised with attention to detail
  • Strong technical knowledge
  • Case management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and client care skills
  • Proficient IT skills, including experience with case management systems and Microsoft Office (training on practice management systems will be provided)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to follow and promote the firm's ethos
  • Commitment to developing the firm and working as part of a team in an established but adaptable practice
