Rents & Service Charge Lead

We are excited to be working with a social housing provider, known for their ambitious sustainable projects, and their above-standard housing solutions as they go to market for a Rents and Service Charge Lead on a permanent basis.

In this role, you will be:

  • Managing the rents and service charge teams, including direct line management of two team members, providing guidance, support, and development.
  • Overseeing budget setting, forecasting, and year-end processes for rents and service charges.
  • Extracting and analysing data from financial systems to accurately calculate service charges.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations, including conducting annual rent reviews.
  • Leading future projects, such as the implementation of service charge accounting software.
  • Collaborating with various teams across the organisation to drive process improvements.

Requiring you to go into their South-West London office one day per week, this role provides a flexible working pattern and the opportunity to manage an established, independent team. You'll enjoy a high level of autonomy, allowing you to take ownership of your work and drive impactful projects forward. The ideal candidate will:

  • Ideally, be studying towards an accounting qualification. E.g. ACCA, CIMA, AAT or equivalent.
  • Have experience in service charge and rent accounting, ideally within the social housing sector. Although candidates working in the private housing sector will be considered.
  • Have excellent Excel skills (pivot tables, index match, VLOOKUP's).
  • Be proactive, with strong communication skills and the ability to work across teams.
