Senior Buyer (Fixed Term Contract)

A leading UK-based company is offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Buyer to join their growing procurement team on a fixed-term contract in Bristol. This role involves supporting the implementation of our sourcing solution, Oracle Fusion, and contributing to their procurement strategies across various categories. Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide sourcing and commercial support across IT, FM, and other significant operational category spends as required.
  • Maintain excellent customer relationships with operational, project, and support teams to enable fast problem-solving and foster a ‘one-team' mentality.
  • Undertake weighted tendering assessments for goods and services to achieve the best value with the least risk.
  • Work closely with Finance, IT, our Systems Integrator, and Suppliers to support the preparation for the implementation of a new ERP solution, including reviewing and creating new supplier catalogues, punchouts, data cleansing, and collation.
  • Support suppliers with the transition to the new system.
  • Provide expert contractual and commercial advice to the team and business stakeholders.
  • Actively contribute to the wider team goals, including our ESG goals and Positive Impact, helping us achieve our responsible business practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong ability to build relationships and rapport with individuals at all levels.
  • A customer-first mindset to fully understand the supply requirements of the business.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and suppliers and negotiate successfully.
  • Commercial acumen, with a clear understanding of how activities contribute to business success.
  • Accountability, with the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and achieve targets.
  • Analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience in Catalogue Management and Category Management is advantageous.
  • Technical knowledge of Procurement processes, specifically Supplier Relationship Management and Contracts Management, is desirable.
  • Motivation to learn and develop within the Procurement/Supply Chain areas.
