Finance Analyst

International Consumer Business seeks a Finance Analyst to partner and support with their Sales & Marketing teams. This role partners the Sales and Marketing team, providing commercial finance support through insight and analysis of our sales and marketing activities. The Finance Analyst will support the Sales and Marketing function in growing the brand and sales through various campaigns and initiatives throughout the year, working with them to appraise and present the best options for such growth driving activities. The Finance Analyst will also provide weekly trading analysis and insights for presentation at the weekly sales meetings.

Duties for the Finance Analyst include:

  • Reporting on key performance measures for the business on a weekly and monthly basis, investigating and explaining key variances.
  • Seek to improve the way information is gathered and presented and the interpretation of results and trends. Adapt reporting to cater for changing requirements (transition to Power BI). Work with BI Team to set up automated regular reports.
  • Working in partnership with the Business Intelligence IT Team on the building and maintaining of robust data bases
  • Constant review of key sales drivers and highlighting changes in the business and the external environment which can expose either opportunities or risks. Continuously seek to improve the way in which information is gathered, presented and interpreted, adapting reporting to cater for the changing requirements of the business.
  • Work closely with Marketing team, advising on the best method of analysing an activity and setting up relevant KPIs, ensuring the team understands the information that will be required so activity can be set up correctly. Performing reviews after the activity.
  • Analysis of national deals, identifying best deal compositions and price points from a sales generation, profitability perspective and the impact on our customer base, working with the SCC analyst to ensure the impact is fully understood.
  • Providing ad hoc insightful analysis and recommendations to enhance decision making and assist in driving growth
  • Participate with other FP&A colleagues in evaluation of the activities/campaigns forming the marketing annual calendar; including impact on sales, product mix and profitability as well as incorporating cross functional insight to guide strategic direction and assist in future planning for all promotions.
  • Assist in the forecast for sales by channel in both the long and short term through constant review of key sales drivers and highlighting changes in the business and the external environment which can expose either opportunities or risks.
  • Act as a representative from finance in trials that are being set up. Advise on setting up realistic, measurable KPI's, reporting on the progress and conducting a review at the end of the trial.

Requirements for the Finance Analyst include:

  • Degree educated or equivalent
  • Studying for/achieved finance qualification
  • At least 2 years of work experience in data analysis, generating and interpreting reports, production of financial models for forecasting and ad-hoc analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to investigate, identify and recommend solutions through the extrapolation of data
  • Ability to translate complex data into easy-to-understand information for a wide range of individuals
  • Ability to work to defined deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel Skills
