Background:

A high-net-worth tech entrepreneur from a prestigious family is recruiting a Finance Director for a recently established single-family office. The Finance Director will set up and manage all aspects of finance, focusing on optimising costs, ensuring tax efficiencies, and maximising return on investment. The Finance Director will be based at the family office in Mayfair and will report directly to the CEO with a broad focus on finance, operations, and commercial matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial operations, including cash flow management, payroll reporting, and payments to suppliers.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to optimise costs, improve tax efficiencies, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Prepare and present financial management reports, highlighting key metrics such as net wealth, cash flow, and operating income.
  • Manage financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling to support investment decisions.
  • Liaise with external advisers (accountants, lawyers, bankers, property agents) and manage relationships with financial institutions.
  • Oversee investment portfolio management, performance tracking, and financing for existing assets and future investments.
  • Enhance and maintain formal operating and reporting processes for the finance function, including international reporting.
  • Conduct cost analysis, evaluate service providers for key assets, and monitor budgets and progress of underlying investments.

Candidate Background:

  • Qualified accountant with hands-on financial experience outside of practice, ideally within a family office or wealth management environment.
  • Extensive experience in cash flow management, financial modelling, and tax planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with stakeholders.
  • Trustworthy, responsive, and flexible, willing to operate in a hands-on, sleeves-rolled-up environment.
