We are an ambitious company based in Swindon, who aim to reduce printing costs but increase printing efficiency. We have been in business for 15 years and have experienced growth, year on year. We have brilliant relationships with the businesses we work with and want to increase that customer base.

About the Role

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving the growth of our printing company by identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and nurturing relationships with existing clients. You will be responsible for understanding market trends, assessing customer needs, and creating tailored printing solutions to meet those needs.

This role requires a blend of sales expertise, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills. Whilst you are based from the office in Swindon, this role will require travel to assist you in the development of the business and therefore may require overnight stays (if required by the company).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow our client base and revenue streams
  • Make at least 20 calls per day to potential clients, fostering relationships that lead to new business
  • Visit client sites to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions
  • Conduct thorough market research to uncover trends, competitive insights, and growth opportunities
  • Implement weekly Mailchimp campaigns and track website activity using Capella Synergy to optimize outreach efforts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention
  • Keep detailed records in Salesforce and maintain regular communication with management
  • Provide weekly progress reports on client interactions and development
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and drive business growth
  • Lead sales initiatives, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals to meet revenue goals
  • Work closely with internal teams, including engineers and marketing, to ensure seamless project execution and exceptional client service
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, providing insights to senior management to guide strategic planning

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven success in business development or sales, ideally within the printing industry
  • Experience in face-to-face and telephone sales
  • Strong understanding of printing processes, technologies, and industry trends
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop innovative solutions
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and passionate about exceeding targets
  • Proficient in LinkedIn and social media for business promotion
  • Accurate in sales and product forecasting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software, particularly Salesforce

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years in business development or related roles (preferred)
