Teaching Assistant

On behalf of a Huyton-based Primary School, Tradewind Recruitment seek to appoint an enthusiastic, positive, hard-working, flexible and conscientious person to join the Key Stage 2 team, as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant.

The successful applicant will be expected to work effectively to help teaching staff provide excellent learning opportunities for our children. The role requires working 1:1 and may involve supporting other SEND children within the school. The role will also involve working with small groups of children and leading small group interventions under the direction of the class teacher.

We are looking for someone with passion; an excellent classroom practitioner who can make learning inclusive, effective and exciting to ensure that all our children can be 'the best that they can be'.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Able to deliver the school curriculum across all key stages from Y1 to Year 6;
  • Able to demonstrate a strong work ethic, and excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills;
  • Able to build good relationships with children, their families, staff, other professionals, governors and the wider community;
  • Able to work with children to support any social, emotional, behavioural or personal needs;
  • Able to take direction from the class teacher and use their own initiative;
  • Keep careful and accurate records which help to feed into assessments for children;
  • Willing to support the community-centred ethos of the school.

You will have:

  • A Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent;
  • Minimum qualifications of 5 GCSE passes at C Grade or above, including Maths and English OR equivalent.
