Tax Assistant - The Role:

As a Tax Assistant, you will play an integral role in supporting the firm's tax team by handling compliance tasks and assisting with various tax advisory projects. The role is ideally suited to an individual with experience in both corporate and personal tax within an accountancy practice who is keen to further their skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of both corporation and income tax returns for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring adherence to all regulatory deadlines and compliance standards
  • Tax Reporting: Support the preparation of quarterly and annual tax reports, maintaining accurate and detailed records for audit and compliance purposes
  • Client Interaction: Communicating with clients to collect necessary documentation, answer queries and provide general tax support.
  • Team: Stay up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations and provide administrative and technical support to our team of accountants

Candidate Requirements:

  • A minimum of one year's experience in a tax assistant role within an accountancy practice in the UK
  • Relevant qualification such as AAT, ATT, CTA
  • A solid understanding of UK Tax and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office products, notably Excel
  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiasm for accounting and a willingness to embrace challenges.
