Job Title: SIMS & School Data Manager

Office Angels is recruiting for a SIMS & School Data Manager to join our client, a prestigious educational institution based in South Tyneside. Previous experience of working in a Data Management, Data Administration, SIMS Administration, or School Data role is highly beneficial!

Benefits & Perks:

  • Salary: Circa £30K, negotiable based on experience
  • Location: South Tyneside
  • Hours: 8 AM - 4 PM, Monday - Thursday and 8AM - 3:30PM Friday, 30 minute lunch break, 37 hours per week.
  • Contract Length: Immediate start until Summer half-term minimum, with potential for extension or to be made permanent

Responsibilities:

SIMS Management:

  • Lead the development, maintenance, and management of record/information systems.
  • Input data using SIMS packages to maintain a fully integrated student database.
  • Oversee the school MIS system, set up staff accounts, manage access rights, attend training, and train staff internally.
  • Create and maintain a bank of reports for staff use.
  • Manage reporting on all data held within SIMS.
  • Coordinate with the school's ICT managed service to ensure SIMS data accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate records of free school meals data within SIMS.
  • Collaborate with the Head Teacher's PA/Office Manager and SENCO to ensure up-to-date SEN and IEP information.
  • Work with SLT to create class lists and prepare SIMS for the coming academic year.
  • Produce timetables for the next academic year in collaboration with SLT.
  • Support and liaise with the Attendance Officer.

School Data Management:

  • Set up SIMS Assessment Manager and transfer all school data from Microsoft Excel.
  • Accurately input data using SIMS Assessment Manager.
  • Update student targets and assessment information three times per year.
  • Produce data reports for parents on individual student progress.
  • Analyse examination results and provide insights.
  • Recommend improvements for data collection and analysis methods.
  • Manage complex administrative procedures and support other staff and the Governing Body as needed.

Reporting:

  • Establish and maintain the school reporting system.
  • Contribute to discussions about the reporting cycle and its development.
  • Work with the Head Teacher's PA/Office Manager to delegate tasks related to the reporting system.

Essential Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Strong experience in data management and administration, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Proficiency in SIMS (School Information Management System) and NOVA-T.
  • Knowledge of school timetable systems.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

Desirable Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Experience in providing SIMS training to staff.
  • Familiarity with DCSF (Department for Children, Schools and Families) statutory returns.
  • Experience in producing detailed data reports and analysis.
