Role - Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

Location - Kent

Structure - Onsite 4 days a week.

Salary - £50,000 to £65,000.

About the company:

A global sport and broadcast business has recently created a new Quality Assurance team and over the last 18 months they have been growing it out to tackle all facets of Engineering QA. They are a fast-paced business with a presence across the globe. They utilise cutting-edge technology and are leaders in their space.

About the role:

This is NOT a software QA role; they are strictly looking for individuals with an engineering QA background.

Responsibilities will include recommending and managing best practices for Quality Assurance, asset tracking, data driven analysis, testing processes and operational procedures based on meeting business requirements, and producing a positive impact on operational efficiencies. You will ensure internal and external testing is managed effectively, thoroughly and on time, whilst working in a coherent manner with suppliers and procurement.

Responsibilities of the Senior Quality Assurance Engineer:

  • To always operate safely in line with Company health and safety requirements.
  • To undertake other duties within your capabilities as your Department Manager or Team Manager may assign to you from time to time.
  • A pro-active approach to introducing new methodology and continuous improvement strategies in line with the mission statement.
  • Design, develop and deploy a test strategy, which is consistent and aligned with the E&T Group objectives and strategy.
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and create/manage execution of multiple test plans, to determine if the acceptance criteria are met, and the expected results meet the defined objectives.
  • Collaborating with the PMO team ensuring suppliers test and technical documentation is accurately recorded.
  • Liaise with Technical Project Managers, PMO, Product Owners and wider project stakeholders (which may include 3rd party consultants/suppliers) to identify and propose appropriate resourcing for operational, test and implementation phases, whilst establishing and maintaining efficient relations.
  • Flexibility to test concurrent and/or related projects, by understanding and managing operational and testing dependencies and ensuring that Group operational and test resources are allocated efficiently.
  • Occasional QMO operational support on event weekends either on site or in the Media and Technology Centre
  • Produce event race issue reports and analysis documents for distribution to the technical directors and E&T managing director recommending QA methodology updates to assist E&T teams in areas of improvement.

Required skills and experience of the Senior Quality Assurance Engineer:

  • B.A. with 3 years' experience
  • Certified in ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
  • QA certification such as Six Sigma, CQE etc
  • Proven experience of Asset Tracking management.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office/JIRA/Confluence or similar applications.
  • Ability to run investigations into root-cause analysis of hardware, software and systematic issues and recommend solutions to the relevant teams for resolution.
