Reports to: Head of Service
Supervises: 3 Team Managers

Job Purpose:

As a Service Manager within our Assessments team, you will lead and manage the operational and strategic aspects of the service area. Your primary goal will be to ensure the delivery of high-quality interventions and support services, meeting performance targets and maintaining high standards of practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Supervision: Lead and develop your team to deliver high-quality performance.
  • Operational Management: Ensure effective duty systems and drive excellent casework practices.
  • Performance Monitoring: Use audit tools to maintain and improve service standards.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Oversee statutory duties, court work, and promote permanency planning.
  • Financial Management: Manage service budgets within agreed parameters.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build effective relationships across teams and represent the Local Authority.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Must be a qualified social worker with SWE registration.
  • Experience: Proven experience in managing teams within an assessment service.
  • Checks: Required to have a Disclosure and Baring Service check.
