Banking / Leverage Finance Associate

This leading finance practice are seeking a talented and motivated Banking / Leveraged Finance Associate to join the esteemed team.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge transactions, advising both financial sponsors and corporate clients on complex financing arrangements. You will play a pivotal role in our high-performance culture, working closely with partners and clients to deliver strategic insights and solutions.

Renowned for their prowess in leveraged and acquisition finance, they regularly counsel financial sponsors and corporate borrowers on various financing structures across the capital spectrum. This is including syndicated senior and second lien facilities, unitranche/private credit facilities, ABL facilities, Holdco PIK, and fund financings.

The Role

  • The incoming team member will join the dynamic and expanding London group, engaging in a diverse array of tasks reflective of the broad practice, particularly emphasizing leveraged and infrastructure finance.
  • Operating within a team culture that fosters high performance and collaboration, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to market-leading, cross-border transactions, advising clients worldwide.
  • From the outset, you'll interface with clients, actively cultivating relationships to enhance the firm's standing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on leveraged finance transactions, including syndicated senior and second lien facilities, unitranche/private credit facilities, ABL facilities, Holdco PIK, and fund financings.
  • Collaborate with financial sponsors and corporate borrowers throughout all stages of transactions, from structuring to execution.

Person Specification

  • They seek an individual with 1 to 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience in the London market (or a similar common law jurisdiction), though varying levels of experience will be considered.
  • The ideal candidate will possess proficiency in highly leveraged capital structures and leveraged loan products.
  • Familiarity with the workings of financial sponsors and different stages of private equity transactions.
  • Confidence in drafting and negotiating commitment papers and definitive loan and intercreditor documents.
  • Preferably, experience in real estate finance and/or restructuring.
  • Experience managing transaction closings and the condition precedent process.
