  • Salary: £24,000 - £27,000 per annum (pro rata'd on part time hours)

I am seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join my clients team. The ideal candidate will be reliable, quick to learn, and have previous experience in a busy accounts payable environment. This role involves daily financial reconciliations, handling purchase invoices, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Perform daily reconciliation of sales, returns, and various income streams such as PDQ, Sage, PayPal.
  • Reconcile transferred deposits and update relevant spreadsheets to ensure balances match the trial balance figure.
  • Input purchase invoices and credit notes accurately and make corrections as needed.
  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain necessary documentation and resolve issues.
  • Send out monthly emails to suppliers requesting statements for accurate matching.
  • Match supplier invoices to statements for approval and arrange payments on the monthly payment run.
  • Prepare the monthly payment run for all outstanding supplier invoices.
  • Obtain documentation for a Director's company credit card and assist with reconciliation.
  • Maintain up-to-date filing and handle the company's accounts email.
  • Deal with sales customer calls, provide assistance, and chase overdue accounts.
  • Distribute daily post and update the daily DHL weights spreadsheet.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency with Windows PCs and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Good mathematical skills and the ability to identify numerical errors.
  • Understanding of basic bookkeeping procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with various departments.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
