I am assisting an independent business who are based a short drive from near Boroughbridge as they are recruiting for a Buyer to join their team on a full time basis.
To be the successful candidate you will have experience in purchasing, negotiation, and supply chain management. If you have a strong background in procurement and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the daily operations of the department
- Managing import and export clearances
- Collaborating with the supply chain on ERP to ensure raw material availability and stock accuracy
- Planning and placing purchase orders
- Tracking purchases and expediting orders as necessary
- Negotiating prices and terms & conditions with suppliers
- Resolving supplier invoice queries
- Maintaining the supplier database
- Working with regulatory and quality teams on product and supplier approvals
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing and new suppliers
- Handling supplier complaints
- Liaising with relevant departments
- Performing any other duties as assigned by management
- Taking ownership of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) responsibilities, addressing concerns within and outside their areas of responsibility by notifying relevant managers
Skills and experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages, Business Central 365, and strong IT skills
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and work under pressure
- Strong work ethic with the ability to show initiative and excellent communication skills at all levels
- Team player with the ability to work on cross-functional teams and projects
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
