Head of Scheduling - Social Housing Repairs & Maintenance

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for optimisation, leadership, and operational excellence? We are seeking a Head of Scheduling to join a leading construction contractor based in Stratford. It will be your job to lead the transformation and centralisation of scheduling across a dynamic repairs and maintenance team.
This is a key leadership role responsible for enhancing scheduling performance, standardising practices, and implementing data-driven strategies that improve efficiency, resource utilisation, and service delivery.
You must have 2+ years in a leadershop/senior coordination role overseeing a team and 5+ years experience within scheduling, workforce management or operational coordination within a field service or maintenance environment to be considered for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of scheduling performance across multiple contracts and teams.
- Lead the transition to a centralised scheduling model, streamlining workflows and promoting best practices.
- Oversee and support Scheduling Leads and Schedulers, ensuring consistency and alignment with workforce capacity and KPIs.
- Collaborate closely with operational and productivity teams to align scheduling strategies with business goals.
- Identify and resolve systemic scheduling issues, using data insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Provide coaching, training, and support to improve scheduler effectiveness.
- Partner with system and tool stakeholders to ensure scheduling platforms are scalable and fit-for-purpose.
Essential characteristics:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
- Proven success in driving process improvement, standardisation, and centralisation initiatives.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.
- Confidence with scheduling platforms, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
- Experience developing training content and process documentation.
