Job Title: Administrator
Location: Hybrid - Work from home available with set days in the office based in Birmingham (B1)
Hourly Pay Rate: £11.76 to £14.32 dependent on experience
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday
Length of the contract: Initially 3 months

Gi Group are now seeking to appoint an experienced Administrator to our Public Sector client based in Birmingham. The Administrator will be responsible for effectively receiving and administering legislative documents to meet procedures for the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. The postholder will also support the COP DOLS Application Managers in proactively managing the process from referral to submission to prevent unwanted delays.

Duties of the Administrator

  • To advise and provide guidance on the correct procedures.
  • To ensure the correct forms and paperwork are appropriately completed and stored for each Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards referral.
  • To produce statistical and written reports for executive committee and NHSE requirements.
  • To be the first point of contact for all queries.
  • To provide guidance on relevant forms and refer on to COP DOLS Officers.
  • To receive and scrutinise referrals and negotiate for errors or incomplete forms to be corrected.
  • To set up an electronic record.
  • To enter service user details on relevant databases and the case recording system.
  • To send allocations out to Best Interest Assessors and Mental Health Assessors.
  • To arrange and appoint Relevant Person's Representatives.
  • To appoint Independent Mental Advocate if required and send appropriate forms for them to complete their report.
  • To receive completed assessments and reports.
  • To advise in the prescribed format of the outcome to the relevant person, managing authority, or any other interested parties as per the legislative requirement.
  • To provide the relevant persons appointed representative with information and guidance on their role and responsibilities, including the right and duty to make an application to the Court of Protection.
  • To minute take.
  • To process invoices recording data on appropriate systems.

Role Criteria

  • Good standard of education (GCSEs or equivalent).
  • Previous administrative experience.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Experience minute taking.
  • Good keyboard skills.
