Management Accountant

A great opportunity has arisen for an Interim Management Accountant on a 12-month contract to join a growing business. This role will be pivotal in ensuring accurate month-end accounting and preparing financial reporting. The successful candidate will have the chance to leverage technology to continuously improve processes, deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines, and contribute significantly to the team's ongoing success

As a Management Accountant, your role will be integral to the smooth running of the finance department. You'll be responsible for preparing and reviewing accurate month-end journals, producing clear balance sheet reconciliations, and ensuring all transactions are accounted for correctly. Your keen eye for detail will be crucial in identifying and reviewing leases for accurate accounting under IFRS 16, as well as spotting data gaps or necessary adjustments in transactions and journal postings. Additionally, you'll manage expenses and credit card transaction postings, including end-of-month reconciliation. The role does require someone on site 4-5 days a week.

  • Preparation and review of accurate month-end journals including prepayments and accruals
  • Producing clear balance sheet reconciliations with supporting documentation
  • Ensuring transactions are accounted for in line with applicable financial reporting standards
  • Identifying and reviewing leases for accurate accounting under IFRS 16
  • Reviewing transactions and journal postings to identify data gaps or adjusting journals required
  • Managing expenses and credit card transaction postings including reconciliation at month-end

As an ideal candidate for the Management Accountant position, you are an ACCA/ACA qualified accountant with a solid understanding of accounting principles and technical knowledge. Your proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, coupled with your experience with SAP (though not essential), will enable you to excel in this role. Your ability to work independently, take initiative, coupled with your excellent organisational and communication skills make you a perfect fit for this role. Experience of reporting under IFRS would be a significant advantage.

  • ACCA/ACA qualified accountant
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience with SAP is preferable but not essential
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and technical knowledge
  • Experience of reporting under IFRS is desirable
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
