A 'Good' rated Special School in Leeds is seeking a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team of support staff. The school caters for children and young people aged 4 to 18 years with Autism, Learning Disabilities, Complex Medical Conditions and Physical Disabilities.

The school is looking for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to start in September on a long-term, full-time placement (Monday to Friday).

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities would be:

  • To work alongside the class teacher and support staff in the day-to-day running of their lessons.
  • To support with behaviour management and to act as a positive role model for the students.
  • To help run stimulating and exciting lessons which aim to enhance the sensory skills of the pupils.
  • To build strong relationships with the students to help them feel comfortable and safe.
  • To support the students with their day to day routine including personal care if required.
