Finance Manager

Our client, a customer centric financial services provider is seeking a qualified Accountant to manage the finance department. The Finance department has responsibility for recording, controlling and reporting all cash flows within the Society as well as the management and financial accounting functions. The role is varied has responsibility for a broad range of financial activities, including statutory & regulatory reporting, tax reporting, budget and forecasting, fixed asset control and reporting to the business and Board.

The Salary band is wide for this role so that all levels of experience are covered and provides room for development and learning of areas such as reg reporting and treasury. The role is hybrid 2/3 days per week but the hours are flexible. The role also has room for progression in the future.

Responsibilities of the Finance Manager

  • Finance Team leader with supervision of junior staff, one DR
  • Review and submission of monthly management accounts
  • Preparation of statutory accounts including supporting schedules
  • Monitoring of financial limits and thresholds
  • Production of financial information for board and committee reporting
  • Preparation of annual budget cycle and financial forecasting
  • Preparation, documentation and review of regulatory, statutory and tax reporting
  • Assist with the preparation of ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery plan and Resolution plan
  • Responsible for maintenance and upgrade testing of all finance systems
  • Ensuring all activities meet and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care
  • Protecting the culture and standards of the Society in respect of its dealing with staff, members and external

Requirements of the Finance Manager

  • A qualified accountant with experience operating within the Financial Services Sector is essential
  • Experience operating within a retail lending business would be advantageous as would exposure to 'back office' treasury functions
  • Experience of financial accounting, management accounting and regulatory reporting
