About the Client:

Our client is a respected firm with a longstanding history of providing exceptional services in their field. They are seeking an HR Assistant to support the Compliance Manager in upholding company policies and procedures and to oversee key HR functions across the firm.

HR Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all personnel adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Maintain personnel records and manage HR tasks, such as contracts, new starter documentation, right-to-work checks, and GDPR compliance.
  • Update policies and procedures as required to keep them current.
  • Promote diversity and equality values within the company.
  • Manage maternity, paternity, and risk assessments.
  • Oversee training needs, implement training programmes, and support employee development.
  • Administer the company's appraisal system and conduct appraisal meetings.
  • Monitor staff performance, including attendance, probation, sickness, and holidays.
  • Handle disciplinary matters and formal grievances.
  • Coordinate with the IT Manager on HR-related IT issues, such as onboarding new starters or implementing new software platforms.
  • Lead the recruitment process, from job description creation to selection, onboarding, and retention.
  • Utilise software tools, including the case management system and Office 365, for HR-related tasks.

HR Assistant Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of HR practices, with experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency in using HR software and Microsoft Office 365.
  • High level of attention to detail, particularly regarding compliance and record-keeping.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to provide guidance and support to staff.
  • A proactive attitude towards improving HR policies and employee relations.
