Teaching Assistant - KS1

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Barnsley. This is a fantastic long-term opportunity to start in September, supporting both Year 1 and Year 2 students.

Key Responsibilities:

Whole Class Support: Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment.
1-1 SEN Support: Provide individualised support to students with special educational needs, helping them to achieve their full potential.
Intervention and Small Group Work: Conduct targeted interventions and small group sessions to reinforce learning and support student progress.
Flexible Support: Work across Year 1 and Year 2 as required, adapting to the needs of the school and its students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly within KS1, is highly desirable.
  • A patient, caring, and nurturing approach to supporting young learners.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to adapt to the varying needs of students.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or childcare (preferred but not essential).
