The Hours: This role is an hourly paid, fixed term role. Wherever possible we aim to offer a consistent working pattern, but we're looking for flexibility as it may be necessary for us to alter this pattern from time to time to suit the needs of the business. We'd give you as much notice of this as possible.
The Salary: £11.50 per hour
Duration: Fixed term contract until 03-Nov-2024
What it's like to work here
Reporting to our Welcome Manager, you'll join a small but growing team. In 2024 we're trialling opening 6 days a week during the main season but we open 7 days during school holidays.
Moseley Old Hall is the former farmhouse famous for sheltering Charles II after the Battle of Worcester in 1651. In the 18th-century coach house, next to our orchard, hides our Orchard tea-room. From here the comforting smells of freshly made soup, home-made cakes and scones, probably baked only 30 minutes ago tempt our customers in for something refreshing. Recent land acquisition has more than doubled the size of our estate.

As the Facilities Assistant, you'll assist with the day to day cleanliness and presentation the National Trust's buildings and outdoor spaces. You'll turn your practical hand to all sorts of cleaning and minor maintenance ensuring all our facilities are kept in good working order. You'll also be asked to help with some manual work such as unloading deliveries.
Duties such as cleaning, sweeping and litter picking will form a core part of the role, both inside and outdoors. You'll ensure the highest standards of customer service across the area by always implementing a ‘customer comes first' attitude. General maintenance work and helping within other teams will also form part of your role.
