Salary: £37,200 - £40,000 per annum

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an EV Charging Project Manager on behalf of one of our clients.

The purpose of the role is to advise and assist key stakeholders on project proposals to develop Electric Vehicle (EV) charging solutions in Wales to ensure maximum efficiency of planning and delivery of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (EVCI).

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities for the Electric Vehicle Charging Project Manager:

  • Continuously engage with Charge Point Operators (CPOs) by attending events and meetings to optimise the delivery of the preferred network and foster public-private sector collaboration.
  • Address key barriers to the commercial development of charging infrastructure.
  • Provide support to local authority EV Account Manager with technical information and advice to enable local authorities and private sector to deliver the preferred network.
  • Identify and develop innovative solutions including new business models, commercial arrangements and technologies which improve the quality of experience for customers and remove barriers to delivering charging infrastructure.
  • Contribute to work with the Distribution Networks Operators (DNOs) to ensure current and future grid capacity is sufficient for the preferred network and improve efficiency within the connections processes.
  • Communicate and follow up with internal and external stakeholders and Clients, by providing advice and guidance to ensure that projects support the actions in the EV Equality Impact Assessment.
  • Secure support of stakeholders by actively engaging with them on adhering to the Welsh Government's National Charging Standards, Chargesafe and the adoption of other EV charging national standards such as the 2023 UK Charge Point Regulations.
  • Share information with internal and external stakeholders by contributing to Health & Safety reviews and briefings to facilitate best practice and project completion in agreed timescales, sharing information across different stakeholder groups.
  • Keep technical and market knowledge up to date by attending ad-hoc conferences and events related to EV strategy and delivery (around 3 per year) to enable the provision of technical advice.
  • Maintain the risk register by identifying and managing risks, identifying actions to minimise impact on the company and other stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications for the Electric Vehicle Charging Project Manager:

  • NVQ 2357 (level 3) or equivalent and can demonstrate proven experience of theoretical, technical and procedural knowledge.
  • Demonstrable experience in a technical advisory capacity of delivering projects covering charge point installation, systems integration, charge point operation, electrical connections or systems planning,
  • In depth understanding of the UK's charge point industry.

Desirable for the Electric Vehicle Charging Project Manager:

  • Understanding of the local authority environment, e.g. funding cycles, procurement rules. Experience of communicating technical Information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Welsh language skills.
