Financial Controller
£60,000 - £65,000 plus benefits

NJR are currently working with a Manchester based SME who supply the retail industry - including grocers, discounters and independents. They are now seeking a highly experienced Financial Controller to join their team.
Reporting to the Finance Director, the purpose of this role is to oversee and manage the day-to-day finance functions of the business & support the Finance Director.
Responsibilities include:
- Staff management of the finance team.
- Monthly review of Aged Creditor Report with Purchase ledger clerk
- Review of weekly supplier payment run.
- Review of agents' monthly commission payments
- Work with the purchasing department to ensure all foreign suppliers are paid on time and according to individual customer's terms and conditions.
- Monthly reconciliation of credit card statements
- Monthly reconciliation of staff expenses
- Monthly review of Aged Debtor Report with Credit Controllers
- Review & preparation of bad debt write offs.
- Review Monthly Invoice Finance Reconciliation of aged debtors reports for HSBC.
- Setting appropriate credit limits and terms for customers
- Reviewing and authorising the release of held orders, where appropriate
- Bank Statement Reconciliations
- Maintaining the cashbook daily & ensuring it balances to accounting system.
- Handling all petty cash and journal postings to ensure that it reconciles to accounting system.
- Cashflow forecasting
- Prepare weekly Sales Report for Board of Directors.
- Foreign Currency Transactions
- Ad hoc General Ledger analysis
- Review & authorise the weekly payroll for the warehouse operatives.
- Preparation of monthly pension reports.
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Preparation of Accruals & Prepayment schedules
- Posting month end journals
- Maintain fixed asset register.
- Preparation of customer turnover reports
The successful candidate will be a highly experienced and qualified (CIMA, ACCA) finance professional, ideally from a supplier background.
You will have excellent management experience and be comfortable leading a team.
