Role Description

This position will be a key member of the finance team, reporting to the Financial Controller.

Key responsibilities include the preparation and maintenance of operational cashflow forecasts, preparation of monthly group reporting schedules and to support the Financial Controller in maintaining a SOX compliant control environment by undertaking a number of review tasks.

This role would suit candidates looking to gain experience in a central Finance function to gain experience of a Balance Sheet focus within a Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controlled environment whilst being able to bring proven management accounting experience from previous roles with a desire to develop solid knowledge of Finance processes to lead them on to senior Finance positions in the future.

Competencies / Skills / Knowledge / Experience

  • Qualified member of CIMA or ACCA or Qualified by Experience
  • Solid experience in a busy financial environment
  • Deadline focused / Excellent time management skills and ability to handle pressure and conflicting deadlines
  • Experience preparing Management Accounts desirable
  • Interest in Excel with advanced level of knowledge

What the role includes

  • Preparation of monthly AR Provsions and group reporting schedules for the AR Rollforwards
  • Providing coding for bank reconciliation reclasses for month end posting
  • Maintenance of the operational cashflow
  • Reconciling and updating the weekly FX schedules (Promotions and Festivals)
  • Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting the ledger managers in clearing down open items in a timely manner and in line with SOX controls
  • Reconcilation of intergroup balances for a diverse group of companies
  • Consolidating responses and preparation of control questionaires to maintain a SOX compliant environment
  • Supporting delinquent Corporate cardholders in getting accounts brought up to date
  • Summarising and adjusting of the quarterly T&E analysis for VP Finance review
  • Assist with providing supporting documentation and analytical reviews / walkthroughs for external and internal audits
  • Cover for the Corporate Accountant in the preparation of VAT returns, review and approval of supplier pay runs and transactions generated by the finance departments and wider business in line with the business process memo's i.e. approval of credit note requests.
  • Bank mandate signatory for manual payments after qualifying period.
  • To undertake any other duties as requested by the Financial Controller.
