I am looking for an experienced and ambitious Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental Officer with vast experience to join my client on a full-time permanent basis. There is an exciting opportunity with clear progression pathway for the right person who is looking for career advancement opportunities. Could this role be for you?

Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5pm (1hr lunch) / Friday 8:30am to 4pm (30-minute lunch)

Job responsibilities of the QHSE Officer:

  • Integrated management system

  • Auditing against Company procedures.

  • Updating, producing, recording and filing appropriate IMS, update files and checklists according to environmental safety management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).

  • Production of QSHE statistics for presentation at management meetings.

  • Health and safety / environmental Inspections/Investigation.

  • Carrying out weekly Housekeeping/Site Inspections and liaising with Departmental Managers.

  • Accident, incident and near miss investigations.

  • Environmental Complaint Investigations.

  • Liaison with plant and office personnel on matters for action/improvement.

  • Compilation of forklift truck checks and stats.

  • Contractor assessment and supervision during site improvement works.

  • Assisting with recording of company complaints.

  • Provision of QSHE Training.

  • Assisting with the administration of the company's packaging waste obligations.

  • Assisting with the preparation of material safety data sheets.

  • Assisting with the administration of the REACH Regulations for the Group.

  • Assisting with the day to day running of the Compliance department, be a point of contact for customers, providing quality information, material safety data sheets, technical data sheets and logging complaints.

  • Assisting with the purchasing and issuing of personal protective equipment.

  • Representing the Compliance Department at internal meetings.

  • Any other duties deemed necessary by the Head of Compliance or Company Directors to ensure the efficient operation of the business.

Requirements of the QHSE Officer:

  • Strong experience as a QHSE Officer with a minimum of 3 years' experience, strong exposure to Quality is also required.
  • NEBOSH Diploma qualification is essential.
  • Understanding and ability to use ISO 14001, ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to get on with people of all levels across the business.
  • Driven and ambitious individual, looking to step up into management.
  • Demonstrable ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines.
  • Must be able to work on own initiative and be able to make decisions and solve problems that are general in nature and for which there are precedents.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving techniques.
