Our Team

This is an exciting time to join Economic Crime Risk, a second line of defence (2LOD) function. Our Governance & Insights team is looking for an experienced Risk MI & Insights Analyst to support us in our contribution to the Virgin Money purpose: to protect customers and stop bad people doing bad things through our firm.

The Governance and Insights teams supports several key areas of 2LOD Economic Crime Risk, including the Business Wide Risk Assessment (BWRA), Change management, regulatory reporting and monthly reporting/governance.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing meaningful insight of risk landscape using own Financial Crime or Fraud knowledge along with available MI/reports.
  • Supporting development and production of consistent, accurate & timely MI to support reporting by managers and senior leaders, ensuring issues are escalated as required.
  • Carrying out data analysis of monthly EC MI identifying trends and areas of further investigation using multiple sources and cleansing data with Excel and Power BI.
  • Ensuring appropriate governance documentation is in place for EC MI production and maintain this documentation as MI requirements change.
  • Supporting with technical aspects of projects including the BWRA with the use of Excel and PBI for data manipulation, report collation, ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Supporting monthly board reporting cycle for all Economic Crime matters, e.g. production of a monthly SMF17 report, Risk Appetite Statement metrics, etc.
  • Maintaining the Economic Crime calendar of events to ensure deliverables across the team are managed and co-ordinated.
  • Supporting with the coordination of risk and controls across the team.

We need you to have

  • Previous experience working in a Financial Crime or Fraud environment.
  • A proven track record of analysing data to reach fact-based conclusions.
  • Skilled in providing insight such as commentary or qualitive analysis on data/MI.
  • Experience working in reporting or a MI role.
  • Proficient using MS packages such as Excel or a data visualisation tool to generate MI/reports.
  • Great stakeholder management and ability to form effective relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.

It's a bonus if you have but not essential

  • Experience using PowerBI, SAS, SQL or Power Query.
  • Experience working within a governance environment.
  • Understanding of Risk and Control Management.
