Our client is a leading highway barrier company based in Wolverhampton, dedicated to ensuring safety and quality in transportation infrastructure. They specialise in providing innovative solutions that enhance road safety and protect lives.

Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) Manager to oversee all aspects of safety, health, environmental, and quality management within our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining SHEQ policies, procedures, and initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement SHEQ strategies, policies, and procedures to promote a culture of safety, health, environmental awareness, and quality excellence.
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards.
  • Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses, and develop corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risks and prevent recurrence.
  • Provide guidance and support to management and employees on SHEQ matters, including training, coaching, and promoting awareness.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance SHEQ performance across the organization.
  • Liaise with external agencies, contractors, and suppliers to ensure adherence to SHEQ requirements and standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to SHEQ activities and performance metrics.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental management, engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in SHEQ management, preferably within the construction, infrastructure, or manufacturing industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g., IOSH, IEMA) is advantageous.
