Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our client's dynamic team based in Havant.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our manufacturing equipment and facility. This position involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair tasks, and contract management, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. The Maintenance Engineer will collaborate closely with various departments to implement continuous improvement initiatives, uphold safety standards, manage maintenance documentation and inventory, and oversee external service contracts and contractors to ensure quality and compliance.

Hours: 8am – 4.30pm Monday - Friday

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Preventive Maintenance: Plan and execute preventive maintenance activities for all machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues on production equipment promptly to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
  • Work closely with the Technical Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities, and Maintenance departments to coordinate maintenance activities and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all company health and safety regulations, including contributing to health and safety initiatives and activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance using the system.
  • Monitor and maintain spare parts inventory, controlling costs within budget.

Emergency Response: Respond to emergency and unplanned maintenance issues, providing quick and effective solutions.

  • Provide technical support and training to production staff on the proper use and maintenance of equipment.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Significant experience working in manufacturing environments, with a strong understanding of injection moulding machines.
  • Experience of manufacturing machinery within plastic injection moulding.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with knowledge of the 18th edition BS 7671 Wiring Regulations.
  • Familiarity with BS EN ISO 14644 cleanroom requirements, BS EN ISO 9001, and cGMP standards.
