We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the COO Risk and Assurance Manager. Our Chief Operating Officer (COO) function is paving the way for the future of the gas industry through new technologies and sustainable solutions, and you will be critical to controlling the risk and assurance plan.

I help to keep people safe and warm by...

  • Working with other assurance providers to map assurance across key risk areas.
  • Developing the risk and assurance plan each year.
  • Supporting COO Directors and teams in executing the risk and assurance plan, highlighting challenges and risks, and making necessary adjustments.
  • Managing performance against the risk and assurance plan and intervening when assurance and risk activities are off track.
  • Developing and managing risk-based assessment criteria to accurately measure compliance across the COO function.
  • Escalating assurance activities that do not meet the risk-based assessment criteria and require intervention.
  • Leveraging insights from risk and assurance activities to identify opportunities for improvements and change.

What you'll need

  • You will be qualified in management of risk or hold relevant professional qualification
  • Proven experience in risk, audit and assurance in a high performing regulated or safety critical business
  • You have experience leading and nurturing teams to grow and develop
  • Prior experience in developing risk-based assessment criteria across a large organisation
  • You are a critical thinker with great analytical problem solving skills
  • Proficient in IT systems including Microsoft Office365 products
  • You are confident in engaging with key stakeholders across all levels of the business and able to translate data and define key risk points

If you don't have all the qualifications, we would still love to hear from you... we provide our own specialised learning and development programs, providing access to learning tools to help you acquire the skills needed to excel in our environment.
