We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Lead for our Careers and Industry Placement Team. This pivotal role involves providing line management, support, and direction to key cross-college teams, ensuring effective career services and successful industry placements for our students.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide line management and leadership to the careers and industry placement team.
  • Support and enhance the centralised tutorial curriculum to meet Gatsby benchmarks effectively.
  • Conduct placement preparation sessions, oversee career progress, and coordinate enrichment activities.
  • Develop and maintain a robust database of employers and a pipeline of placement opportunities for students.
  • Manage the infrastructure for recording industry placements and ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards, including risk assessments and parental consents.
  • Stay updated with the latest national guidance on careers and Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG), and local initiatives such as Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIPs).
  • Coordinate all aspects of student placement journeys, from initiation to quality assurance, ensuring all students meet the minimum placement requirements.
  • Promote the college to employers, sector bodies, schools, and the local community, fostering effective partnerships.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge of national guidance, legislation, and quality benchmarks related to careers and industry placements.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading teams within an educational or professional setting.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Results-driven with a focus on achieving excellence in delivery and meeting key performance indicators.
