Family Worker

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Family Worker for a Local Authority Client based in North London.

In this role, you will provide targeted support to families, helping to improve their health, well-being, and educational outcomes while preventing issues from escalating to require statutory intervention.

About the role:
You will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of children and families needs.
  • Develop and implement whole-family action plans, regularly evaluating progress against shared outcomes.
  • Manage cases involving children in need or at risk, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures to safeguard vulnerable children and adults.
  • Manage a caseload of families, providing excellent customer service and ensuring timely intervention.
  • Deliver early intervention packages, including evidence-based programs, or refer families to appropriate services.

About you:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

  • Proven experience working with children, young people, and families.
  • Experience conducting comprehensive assessments of families' needs using frameworks like the Common Assessment Framework (CAF).
  • Experience creating and evaluating whole-family action plans with a focus on achieving shared outcomes.
  • Experience working with families in crisis situations, including those involving domestic violence, substance misuse, or children on the edge of care.

What's on offer:
Salary: £20+ph

  • may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6, months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday - Friday, 36 hours per week
