Finance Director

A not-for-profit at the forefront of improving health care standards for women globally is currently seeking a permanent Director of Finance. The organisation works in partnership with clinicians and research professionals to develop and improve best practice in key areas of healthcare. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the finance directorate in developing and leading on financial strategy as the organisation seeks to grow and diversify its income.

A brief summary of duties is as below:

  • Work as part of the Senior Management Team to develop long-term financial and business strategies.
  • Lead and manage the finance function, overseeing the development and mentorship of direct and indirect reports across both financial control and operations and business partnering and financial planning.
  • Ensure strong financial systems, policies and procedures are in place for effective financial management and making recommendations and taking actions to improve where appropriate
  • Prepare short and long term financial plans including providing management information to the Finance Committee on key upcoming major projects
  • Lead the annual budget process and multi-year planning processes
  • Ensure effective management of the organisations investment portfolio.
  • Lead the annual external audit process, overseeing te preparation of consolidated accounts for the external auditors and for Committee review.

About You

You will be an experienced finance professional who will have operated at Finance Director or Head of Finance level in previous organisations. You will be CCAB qualified or equivalent Applicants from all sector backgrounds will be considered, though an appreciation for the work the organisation undertakes in advancing healthcare is a must. Strong staff management experience overseeing small to medium sized teams
