Our client are a private sector provider of specialist child care services. The organisation supports vulnerable young people presenting with complex social care needs. The young people they support require bespoke packages within multi occupancy homes or solo occupancy accommodation working with staff who facilitate the development of sense of self and key skills. The aim of all the service is to support young people into independence.

The Facility aims to achieve the highest standards of care for young people.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Work in line with all company policies and procedures and follow company reporting channels.

Monitoring young person's ability to manage with every-day living, access education training or employment, tend to own self-care and health care needs, form and maintain appropriate relationships/friendships and develop support networks, whilst providing regular support sessions for the young people in placement.

Preparing and carrying out an agreed plan of work with the young person living semi independently in the community.

To contribute to weekly and monthly reports and person-centred care planning.

To support the young person to attend meetings with other agencies and professionals.

To attend admission, planning meetings, and review meetings and to prepare the appropriate reports for these.

To carry out daily and weekly health and safety checks with the young person, which must be recorded and report any urgent repairs or damage to property to the supervisor immediately.

To administer weekly financial payments to young people and keep accurate records and receipts for each expenditure.

To participate in regular supervision sessions and annual appraisals.

To attend team meetings and staff training sessions as and when required.

To carry out general administration and housekeeping duties as required.

To communicate effectively with management and external agencies.

Any other duties that may be requested from time to time directly relating to the function of the position.

Ensure young people in the service are effectively safeguarded.

Qualifications (Essential):

NVQ/QCF level 3 award in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or Caring for Children and Young People.

Qualifications (Desirable):

Be committed to completing QCF level 3 award in Health & Social Care (Children) within 12 months of registration.

This is a statutory requirement for all employees wishing to work in childcare.
