Job Description:
As a Temporary Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to teachers and students in a variety of classroom settings. Your role will involve assisting with daily activities, supporting individual and group learning, and helping to maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and managing classroom activities.
- Support individual students or small groups with their learning, ensuring they stay engaged and on task.
- Help prepare and organise classroom materials and resources.
- Supervise students during breaks, lunchtimes, and other school activities as needed.
- Provide additional support to students with special educational needs (SEN) or specific learning difficulties.
- Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment, following the school's behaviour management policies.
- Adapt to various classroom environments and age groups as required.
- Carry out any other duties as directed by the classroom teacher or school leadership team.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics. A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3) is desirable.
- Experience: Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred but not essential.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively as part of a team, and adaptability to different classroom environments.
- Attributes: Enthusiastic, patient, reliable, and committed to supporting students' learning and development.
- Compliance: Enhanced DBS check and the right to work in the UK.
