SEN Teaching Assistant
We are looking for a passionate SEN teaching assistant to join the Education and training school team in Kingston upon Thames, starting as soon as possible to help make a difference. The school are looking for applicants who are enthusiastic when it comes to supporting students and be the start of change in education and training
About the role:
- Start date: October or As soon as possible.
- Located Borough of Kingston upon Thames within a quiet residential setting.
- Working with SEN pupils aged 16-21 (potentially can cater up to 25 years of age) however due to their Special Educational Needs they work at a lower level similar to that of a younger child.
- SEN teaching assistants must be able to effectively manage the needs of students which could include but are not limited to: PMLD, Autism, Learning Difficulties, Physical Needs, Some Non-verbal, Challenging behaviour and Help with personal care.
- Role requires working 4 days per week (Monday-Thursday) occasionally 5 days per week in Kingston upon Thames.
- Hours required 8:45 AM - 4:30 PM
- Class sizes vary from 5 - 12 students (many opportunities for 1-1 work with students)
- Salary- £85-£100 per day
The successful SEN teaching assistant will need:
- Candidates must have a CHILD & ADULT DBS or be willing to apply
- Passion for education
- Ability to work with children and adults
- Strong communication/listening skills
- Must be able to commute to Kingston upon Thames
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required- Someone caring to fill this role although experience is preferred, if applicant can show they are dedicated to learning/growing within the role, they are likely to be successful.
