Senior Technical Sales Engineer

The Role

Currently seeking an accomplished and highly motivated Senior Technical Sales Engineer with expertise in identifying automated solutions, primarily for the medical / pharmaceutical manufacturing markets. The role involves providing technical support to the sales team, ensuring our proposals offer robust, reliable, state-of-the-art solutions.

This position includes global travel to customer facilities to review requirements and present proposals.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to the sales team.
  • Analyse and verify customer requirements.
  • Develop technical solutions in collaboration with our SMEs and specialist suppliers.
  • Guide our production teams post-purchase order.
  • Facilitate meetings with the Applications and Sales teams to develop customer proposals.
  • Craft detailed proposals.
  • Collaborate with the sales engineer to present proposals to customers.
  • Undertake Proof of Principle work to mitigate project risks.
  • Liaise with existing and new suppliers.
  • Explore new technologies and opportunities for the company.
  • Develop simulations for proposed customer solutions.
  • Specify network and database communications requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and 13485.

Requirements:

  • An Engineering Degree or multiple years experience in a similar industry.
  • Working knowledge of robotics, machine controls, and manufacturing processes.
  • The ability to present ideas, concepts, and pricing information clearly and concisely to technical audiences.
  • Proficiency with the Office suite, including Excel and Word.
  • Initiative and the ability to set work goals from multiple sources.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Aptitude or experience in using CAD packages, including 2D DraftSight and potentially SolidWorks, for creating simple layouts and concept drawings.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and overcome unique challenges.
  • CRM experience.
