Job Purpose
To train & develop members of Merseyside Police and partner agencies on the direction of The Academy Senior Management Team, in the skills & abilities required by them to perform their duties effectively - contributing to the research, design, preparation, delivery & review of training courses as required
Knowledge & Experience
Must be PIP2 accredited or higher
Possession of a recognised police training or teaching qualification - or willingness to work towards one
Desirable to hold a minimum of Level 4 TEP qualification prior to application - if not already gained, essential to commit to gaining and must enrol to complete it
Commitment to remain occupationally competent for license retention e.g. Assessor, PIP and CMI - and to programme-specific CPD
Demonstrable current professional knowledge in particular area of experience & expertise with a high degree of transferable training abilities
Professional history of student management: classroom monitoring; empathetic care; safeguarding; diversity; adaptable communication skills
Exemplary role model of professional & ethical standards, in line with all force policies
Organisational, workload triage and decision-making skills
Innovative understanding & implementation of new learning methodologies & digital developments as required to problem-solve the best ways to enable learner success
Sound comprehension of national, regional & force policing imperatives and adherence to the minimum standards required by the CoP
Preparedness for short-notice working hours flexibility - including cover provision
