Regulatory Reporting VP - Large Exposure Monitoring

Our client, one of the largest financial institutions headquartered in Japan, is seeking a Regulatory Reporting VP specialising in Large Exposure Monitoring to join their team in London. This is a contract role until December 2025, offering a competitive day rate starting from £600 via an Umbrella Company. As a Regulatory Reporting VP, you will work Monday to Friday, being office-based a minimum of 2-3 days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the time.

Responsibilities:

Take responsibility for the organisation's daily large exposure monitoring against regulatory and internal limits.
Manage and further develop the large exposure communications & approval framework with Front Office, Risk Management, and Planning around banking & trading book limits and permitted internal limit excesses.
Provide daily communications to senior management regarding regulatory prudential ratios monitoring and Group collateral reporting.
Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for regulatory large exposure monitoring framework.

About the Team:

The Regulatory Reporting team in London consists of approximately 16 staff members, including consultants and interns. They are responsible for internal management information, daily and monthly monitoring of capital and liquidity adequacy, large exposure, and production and submission of regulatory returns to regulators such as the Bank of England, PRA, and FCA.

Daily duties include:

Conducting the daily large exposure monitoring process and resolving potential internal or external limit breaches.
Performing intraday large exposure monitoring.
Managing the daily group collateral process, including investigations and adjustments.
Supporting the preparation of quarterly COREP reports related to credit risk and large exposures.

Background and Skills:

Expert knowledge of regulatory large exposure rules and reporting requirements under the UK/European Capital Requirements Regulation.
Industry experience working for a comparable institution.
Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerBI.
Experience in producing regulatory large exposure reporting (COREP COR002).
Knowledge and exposure to banking and capital markets products from a credit risk and large exposure perspective.
Strong communication and influencing skills.
Ability to work with large amounts of financial and risk data.
Experience in delivering financial or risk reports under pressure without compromising accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to condense complex risk and financial data into reports for senior management consumption.
Experience in communicating complex change requirements to key stakeholders.
Strong numerical and financial skills required.
Knowledge of programming, including SQL, is preferred.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
