Are you a qualified teacher with experience delivering Business courses to students 16+? Do you have experience in land based business? This may be the role for you!

We are seeking a dedicated Business and Agriculture and Teacher to join our team. This role involves teaching and assessing across the Agriculture curriculum with a specific focus on land-based business skills. Depending on experience, responsibilities may also include Higher Education teaching and course tutor duties.

  • Job Type: Temporary ongoing term time only
  • Location: Dorset
  • Working Hours: Full time 37 hours per week

Day-to-day of the role of a Business and Agriculture Lecturer:

  • Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessment plans.
  • Deliver teaching sessions and conduct both summative and formative assessments for a variety of qualifications.
  • Teach groups of learners in practical skills and classroom settings.
  • Monitor and record attendance, punctuality, and academic progress, providing additional support as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, parents, or carers of learners.
  • Maintain high standards of best practice and prepare for internal verification.
  • Contribute to course management, organisation, and pastoral support of learners, including admissions, enrolment, induction, and more.
  • Organise and conduct educational trips, study tours, demonstrations, and guided tours.
  • Use the College disciplinary procedure appropriately and undertake any other duties as reasonably assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications for the teaching role:

  • Teaching qualification at Level 5 or above, or willingness to work towards one within 2 years.
  • Qualification in Agriculture or Land-based Business at Level 3 or above, or equivalent.
  • English and Maths GCSE or Equivalent
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
