Position Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Estimator to join our pre-construction team. The successful candidate will work alongside two existing estimators, contributing to the preparation of competitive tenders and accurate pricing. This is an office-based role in Stockport, requiring someone who can hit the ground running with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed and competitive tenders for projects ranging from £50K to £4.5M.
Work closely with the pre-construction team to develop cost plans and tender documentation.
Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
Use bespoke systems for measuring and Excel for preparing quotes.
Liaise with suppliers and clients to obtain accurate pricing information.
Ensure all tenders are submitted on time and meet client requirements.
Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings as required.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products and materials related to ceilings and partitions.
Monitor and update tender documents and cost estimates to reflect any changes or updates.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an Estimator, preferably within the ceilings and partitions sector or a similar construction background.
Working knowledge of products and materials used in ceilings and partitions.
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Proficiency in using Excel and bespoke measuring systems.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in preparing estimates.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
