System Engineer - St Neots - Attractive Package

Role: System Engineer

ALH Recruitment are looking for an experienced System Engineer to step into an exciting opportunity with a great and leading client of ours in St Neots.

Job Purpose:

Responsibilities include optimization and support of complex communication systems.

You will provide technical support of specialized systems and product applications including troubleshooting of software-driven electronics, provisioning of communication system infrastructure and performance optimization of RF architecture including, but not limited to, legacy analog, advanced digital DMR III, video and data infrastructure.

You will Program, configure, optimize, test and document complex communications systems.

You will provide weekly reports of activities and accomplishments.

You will perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation with focus on trend analysis and documentation of results.

You will develop solutions to difficult technical problems encountered as part of system implementation, upgrades, or support issues.

Continuous training in the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques on related Motorola Solutions such as CBRS, PTT over Cellular, Dispatch Solutions, Video Security, and Single, Wide Area Voice Digital Mobile Radio Solutions.

You will Team with engineering, project management and sales personnel to effectively design, implement, optimize and cutover advanced communication systems which meet or exceed customer expectations.

Candidate Requirements:

You must have knowledge of wired communications systems, such as local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN), must understand computer network installation, configuration, and maintenance systems to include cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, and bridges.

You must be capable of installation of server hardware/OS and software infrastructure and troubleshooting to resolve system/application related issues.

You must have extensive knowledge of R.F. systems, such as transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks.

You must have expert knowledge in standard telephony and dedicated data circuits, as well as knowledge of packet switching techniques.

You will be computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access

You will work closely with customers and related stakeholders. Preferable prior Motorola Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and customer service team experience a plus.

Must be self-motivated and highly organised to perform the required duties at a distance and without supervision.

You will be able to solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations.

This position may be subject to working in high security areas and therefore requires successfully passing a background check administered by our Client or its customers..

Basic Requirements:

3+ years' experience in one of the following: LMR, RF Systems, Radio Frequency, Radio Communications, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, Networking Equipment, or IT

Must be able to obtain background clearance, as required

Travel Requirements - Full driving license
