Religion Education Teacher

  • Annual Salary: MPS/UPS (M1 to UPS3) + TLR for additional responsibilities

An innovative school in Guildford is seeking a passionate Religion Education Teacher to join their team from January '25. The role involves teaching Religious Education to KS3/4 students, with the possibility of teaching KS5 for the right candidate. The right candidate may take on leadership for KS4 RE in the school. This role is initially for 6 months to cover Maternity.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Delivering Religious Education lessons to KS3/4 students, with the potential to teach KS5.
  • Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and informative lessons that cater to the needs of all students.
  • Assessing and recording students' progress and providing feedback to promote their academic growth.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop curriculum materials and teaching resources.
  • Participating in school events and contributing to the school community.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practice.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A related degree in Religious Education or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Religious Education.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality education and fostering a comprehensive understanding of various religions.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for teaching.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team of professionals.
