A highly successful engineering business is working with NET Recruit to assist them in their search for a Payroll & HR Officer, to report into the office located in the Basingstoke area on a

fixed term contract for 2-Years

  • Creating and maintaining products to an exceptionally high standard, this business is involved at every step of the process, from inception to delivery and pride themselves on retaining many happy customers year on year.

This position has become available to support the HRBP and senior management with day-to-day payroll and HR duties during a 2-year period while the current incumbents will be seconded to a specialist project. As such there isn't currently the scope for this to be a permanent role. This will be a vital role to keep the business running and will provide the successful candidate with highly valuable experience and industry exposure. This role will be about 60% HR and 40% payroll.

Roles and Responsibilities:

While in this role your duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Responsibility for processing the organisation's payroll in a timely and accurate manner on a weekly/monthly basis
  • Creating and maintaining employee payroll records, calculating wages and making appropriate deductions based on employee attendance records
  • Entering payroll information into a central system with high levels of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Dealing with payroll queries internally and externally
  • Reporting into the HR Partner to support on any ad-hoc HR matters as needed
  • Providing insightful counsel and information to managers regarding employee relation matters
  • Producing relevant HR documentation to support the business cross-functionally
  • Supporting on the production and amendment of policies and procedures to best support the business
  • Providing guidance on the recruitment and onboarding process alongside hiring managers to ensure the right candidates are selected and that all processes before and after onboarding are handled
  • Any additional duties as and when required by senior HR personnel

What you will need to Apply:

The ideal candidate for this role will have previous exposure in both a payroll capacity and also in a HR advisory/generalist role. ADP systems exposure for Payroll is really coveted for this role. It would be preferable for the candidate to have worked in a manufacturing or engineering focused environment however this is not essential. A CIPD qualification is not imperative, but possession of one will help any application. Impeccable communication abilities, both with verbal and written communication are vital for this role to ensure seamless working processes and employee relations. You should be organised and possess excellent time management skills.

Candidates should be immediately available or at least at short notice and be happy to undertake a 2-year control role with no guarantee of a permanent position.

What you will get in Return:

The successful candidate for this role will be entitled to a remuneration package of up to £40,000 and generous additional benefits and supplementation. This role will also be hybrid, with 3 days in the office expected.
