Finance Manager

We are seeking a Finance Manager to oversee our financial operations, ensuring the integrity of data processing and leading our finance team. Reporting directly to the Financial Director, this role is pivotal in maintaining our financial health and implementing improvements to streamline our processes.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage the Purchase ledger and Sales/Payroll ledger staff, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of financial transactions.
- Review payroll and subcontract payment runs for compliance and accuracy.
- Handle cashbook processing, bank reconciliations, and cash allocation control.
- Assist with data processing as required and ensure the integrity of the data processed.
- Manage month-end ledger closing, opening, and validation within the set timetable.
- Submit and reconcile HMRC returns including PAYE, NI, VAT, and CIS.
- Maintain hire purchase files and agreement details.
- Drive improvements in reporting and processing to streamline company operations, coordinating with relevant departments to implement changes.
- Transition the recording of purchase invoices to the eque2 "new" purchase ledger system.
- Oversee day-to-day office management and perform any other ad hoc duties as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in financial management and leading a finance team.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and HMRC regulations.
- Proficiency in bank reconciliations and cashbook management.
- Ability to ensure data integrity and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Experience with month-end ledger management and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with financial software and the ability to adapt to new systems.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
